Greek-Turkish Dogfight Over Athens FIR

According to Ethnos daily, an extreme Greek-Turkish dogfight  emerged three times yesterday afternoon over the North and Central Aegean Sea, with the Turkish pilots violating Athens FIR despite Greek pilots’ warnings.
In total, 12 Turkish F-16 fighter jets violated North Aegean FIR with 8 of them fully armed. The fighter jets approached three times the coastline of Limnos in less than 10 nautical miles, thus violating the Greek national airspace.
According to diplomatic sources, Turkey’s actions are causing tension in bilateral relationships and repeated dogfights between Greek and Turkish fighter jets present high risk of aircraft accidents.
