Following contrasting rumours surrounding Lucas Papademos and his chances of becoming the head of Greece’s new coalition government, he is now once again considered the frontrunner, according to the television network Skai. The channel says that Panayiotis Roumeliotis, Greece’s representative at the International Monetary Fund in Washington, is about to arrive in Athens, having been offered a minister’s role in the new executive rather than the position of Prime Minister.
