Philippos Petsalnikos Another Possible PM for Greece

Countless meetings are still taking place in Athens with Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou and leader of the opposition Antonis Samaras to be leading the discussions about Greece’s new coalition government. Many names have been on the table regarding the head of the new government which supposedly will be formed in the next few hours.
The current leader of the Greek Parliament, Philippos Petsalnikos, is another person that is possible to become Greece’s new Prime Minister, sources close to Papandreou state. No official announcements have been conducted yet regarding the matter.
Petsalnikos was born in Mavrochori, Kastoria, and has been a Greek politician for more than 25 years. He was elected for the first time as a member of the parliament for Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK) in 1985. He was elected to the position of Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament on October 15, 2009 by 168 of the parliament’s 300 MPs.
