Diesel Engine Vehicles Now Permitted to Circulate Athens and Thessaloniki

While everyone was interested in the political developments of the past 2 hours, the Ministry of Environment passed a new bill in Parliament concerning the lift of the circulation ban for diesel engine vehicles in the city of Athens and Thessaloniki.
20 years after the restriction posed, drivers of the two capital cities will now be able to choose a car with a diesel engine Euro5 and Euro, which meets the EU specifications. Cars used for professional purposes must not exceed 4 tones weight.
The car companies in Greece, however, will not be able to meet immediately the people’s demand, since they lack diesel engine vehicles given their until now restriction of circulation.
