New Issue of ODEG Greek Language Journal

The new issue (Nr. 84) of the journal “Elliniki, Diethnis Glossa” (trns.: Greek as an International Language) includes articles on the Greek-Korean Conference, the Greek School in Bulgaria, St. Nicholas and the presence of Hellenism in Eastern Cicely, the touristic dimension of the Marathon Race and many other features on the Greek language and the world.
ODEG, the Organization for the transmission of the Greek language located in Athens is the publishing house behind this journal dedicated to Modern Greek language.
One of the highlights in the newest issue is an article by Professor Ath. Episkopou on the “abuse” of the Greek language by Greek magazines and the extended usage of English words, which are sometimes completely displacing their Greek equivalents.
The journal has been every issued 3 months since 1990 and focuses mainly on articles promoting Greek language education abroad both to Greeks and other nationals. Throughout its pages one can read of the positive efforts made by Greeks and friends of the Greek culture and language around the world to spread the teaching of all possible forms of the Greek language.
The Greek journal brings readers closer to all developments concerning the Greek language through its mail, organization of events and book presentations.
The journal is being distributed with no cost to consignees in 76 countries including universities and schools where the Greek language is being taught as well as community associations, etc.
