5.3 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Crete

A 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck the island of Crete on Wednesday, at 2:17pm.
No damages or injuries have been reported so far. Seismologists place the epicenter of the quake 111km south of the city of Heraklion and 423km southeast of Athens.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center, however, gave the preliminary magnitude as 5.5 as seismological centers’ estimates often vary.
