Winter Sales Period Begins January 15 to Make Up for Holiday Losses

The winter sales period officially begins on January 15, running through the end of February, with merchants offering substantial discounts of up to 70 percent in the hope of drumming up much-desired sales to make up for some of the immense losses suffered throughout the year due to the crisis and deep recession in Greece.
After a slow holiday season, shop-owners are already offering pre-sale reductions of up to 70 percent, which will continue through the official sales period.
The Greek market has been in an immense slump over the last two years since the onset of the economic crisis, and as a result of deep recession and harsh austerity measures.
