Greek Parliament Honors Freedom Fighters Gregory Lambrakis and George Tsarouhas



    During a meeting of Greek MPs, Left Deputies and freedom fighters Gregory Lambrakis and George Tsarouhas were honored on the 100th anniversary of their birth.

    The President of the Greek Parliament, Philippos Petsalnikos, emphasized that freedom fighters Gregory Lambrakis and George Tsarouhas are being honored because in the minds of the entire Hellenic people, they represent the symbols of struggle for democracy and social justice.

    On his part, the Greek Minister of Justice stated that pacifists Gregory Lambrakis and George Tsarouhas could be a paradigm to all of Hellenism due to their supreme sacrifices for freedom and peace.

    Moreover, the president of the political party SYRIZA Alexis Tsipras, stated that the honor of these great pacifists is imperative, since they dedicated their life to mankind’s idealism.

    The representative of the political party LAOS, Chrysanthakopoulos, concluded that among the political assassinations which shook Greece as well as international public opinion during the Post-Civil War Period were Gregory Lambrakis and George Tsarouhas’ assassinations while they were fighting for democracy and the freedom of Hellenism.
