'Greektown, New England': Film For Americans Of Greek Descent Presented At TDF

The Thessaloniki Documentary Festival (TDF) presents the film ‘Greektown, New England’ on the 9th and 10th of March, that constitutes a journey through the Greek-American communities of New England.
The film portrays a group of Americans of Greek descent, first, second and third generation immigrants, exploring the cultural connection and the common idiosyncrasy among them.
Featuring Magnum photographer Constantine Manos, pop star Michael Angelakos, businessman and arts benefactor George Behrakis, and remembering sculptor Dimitri Hadzi, Greektown, New England reveals the presence and evolution of a community that moved from survival to prosperity and from diaspora to assimilation without losing its heritage along the way.
The director of the film Nikos Panoutsopoulos told ‘AMPE’: Through the documentary I want to reveal the relations between Greek-Americans and Greece and the importance that the Greek descent has for Greek-Americans.
