Digital Advertising of Meteora and Mount Olympus

The digital world offers many opportunities, so the Region of Thessaly, Greece, decided to advertise some renowned sights of the area via the Internet.
The culture of Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Mount Olympus, Greece’s highest mountain, are among the areas set to be promoted.
Prefect of Thessaly Costas Agorastos, in an official announcement stated, “we signed up for the Greek Business plan of Digital Convergence and Entrepreneurship in Thessaly,” a program from the Hellenic Ministry of Development, Competitiveness and Shipping with a budget amounting to 699,140 euros.
The purpose is to take advantage of every possibility that digital technology makes available in order to advertise the beauty of the area to the general public.
“We could say that it is a complete tour around the region. Through technology, we manage to overcome every difficulty caused by the broad expanse of Thessaly, as well as by the region’s geomorphological characteristics,” said Agorastos.
When people visit Thessaly, they will also enjoy a real tour around the country and an additional 3D tour, accompanied by a digital presentation. Videos, HD pictures and help texts are just a few of the options a visitor may have.
Every presentation will be available in numerous foreign languages, while the platform is set to be made for ease of use.
