According to reports, the Sultan’s personnel – 30 cooks, cleaning people, counselors and lawyers – arrived on the island with three jets two weeks before him to make necessary arrangements.
The Sultan asked that his meals be served only by men, while one of the hotel’s kitchens be exclusively used by the Sultan’s personnel.
Everyone entering the hotel, even the hotel’s staff that will be assisting the Sultan’s employees in inspections for safety reasons. The Sultan’s escort is said to amount to a total of 200 people.
A special elevator, which can be remotely controlled has been constructed in the presidential suite during the renovation, enabling the Sultan to move up and down in his room without being bothered by strangers.
He made a four-day reservation in the Cypriot hotel and after his short stay, he’ll depart for a nearby destination. According to other information, local businessmen of Limassol are trying hard to get an appointment with the Sultan but he seems unwilling to bother with economic issues. Qaboos bin Sa’id has specifically said that his stay in Cyprus is absolutely unprofessional, and he wishes that no one disturbs him during his vacation.
