Greek Caretaker PM Calls for Immediate Solution of Medical Shortages Problem

Greek caretaker PM Panayiotis Pikrammenos sent letters today to the president of the Chamber of Auditors asking for the immediate solution of the pending medical supplies problem (concerning medicine, medical devices, etc.) which is impeding the smooth functioning of the public hospitals and clinics.
In his letter, Pikrammenos noted the emergency of approving the payment orders for the respective medical supplies and underlined to Ioannis Karavokiris the grave risks of postponing this decision.
“There are compelling reasons of public interest, such as the protection of public health, which are demanding for an immediate solution to the problem of medical supplies shortages” highlighted Pikrammenos. “It is absolutely crucial to avoid risking any human life and prevent unexpected and undesired consequences, such as losing patients” added the Greek PM.
Pikrammenos also asked the president of the Chamber of Auditors to bear in mind that the current caretaking government has been constitutionally elected to undertake its mission and serve the people of a country that has been in an extended pre-election period. Thus, finding a judicial solution to this problem of the public health care system must be a top priority for the Supreme Chamber of Auditors.
