Greek National Elections Attract International Attention

Foreign networks have sent their “troops’” of journalists and photographers to Athens to report on latest developments before the June 17 elections. Journalists are mostly seen standing around Syntagma Square across the Greek Parliament. The positive thing is that hotels and cafes in the area have now been flooded with customers; at least for them  elections are proving lucrative.
If someone tried to take a walk on Syntagma Square yesterday afternoon, he would come up against dozens of camera equipment on the balconies of the hotels around Syntagma.  It is estimated that more that 620 journalists from Europe and other continents have visited our country, while even more are anticipated today.
Most of them will spend more than a week in Athens depending on the political developments. If circumstances require it, a new army of journalists will march in the Greek capital in the next few days.
That shows the great importance of the coming national elections and perhaps the fears of many EU countries that Greece might ruin their future plans. Scenarios come and go, while the most important political event is about to make breaking news.
