45-year-old Man Falls from Acropolis Hill, Reasons Unknown As of Yet

A 45-year-old man fell from the south slope of Acropolis Hill at 9.30 on Thursday morning. The incident occurred before the eyes of several tourists visiting the archaeological site. The plunge, undefined yet whether a suicide attempt or an accident, caused the man serious head injury.
The guards of the site called immediately the ambulance and fire brigade to help the unfortunate man, who was lying in an uneasily accessible spot. The firemen finally retrieved the injured man, and he was taken to Evangelismos Hospital.
According to AFP, police sources said that the man is not expected to survive the the 100-metre plunge.
The police are conducting a preliminary inquiry to clarify the conditions of the plunge and determine whether it was a suicide bid or an accident.
