25 Arrests in Thessaloniki

25 people were arrested and another 9 were brought to the Head of Police in Thessaloniki during a police operation at haunts and houses of known anti-authoritarians. The operation started on Monday morning when policemen of the Security of Thessaloniki invaded a well-known haunt near the University and later the occupied building of the former orphanage ”Megas Alexandros” in the region of Ano Toumpa. Other operations were realised at the same time in houses of well-known members of such groups.
During the operation at the orphanage in Ano Toumpa and near the Grigoriou Lambraki road, other anti-authoriatarians gathered outside the building to show their support for those who were arrested.
Those arrested are accused of forming a criminal group, organizing explosions, inflicting heavy physical damage and perpetrating aggravated burglaries. All the incidents are connected with some recent attacks and disputes among such anti-authoritarian groups.
