Greek, Russian and Luthuanian Basketball Teams Most Likely to Participate in London Olympics

Greece, Lithuania and Russia are the three national teams most likely to fly to London to take part in the 2012 London Olympic Games. During the past days, these teams have been in Caracas, Venezuela for the basketball tournament.
Greece, Russia and Lithuania are the three favorites but nothing seems certain yet since they have to beat three more teams to secure their “tickets” to London. All three have won in their leagues and are expected to advance to Saturday’s semifinals, however. Two berths will be decided on that day while the third on the day after.
Greece is playing against Nigeria and so international have started reporting on the possibility that Greece may beat the African team. Saturday’s semifinals will pit either Greece or Nigeria against Russia or Angola.
Greek basketball player Vasileios Spanoulis said that his team did not have enough time to prepare before the tournament and added that they’re trying “to build their chemistry through the games.”
