16th International Festival of Ancient Greek Drama Begins in Cyprus

For those living or vacationing this month in Cyprus, now is a good time to experience an abundance of Ancient Greek drama performances.
The 16th Annual International Festival of Ancient Greek Drama began in Limassol last week and runs until the end of July. The festival, organized under the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union, features performances with Greek and English subtitles from various theater groups of Greece, Germany, the United Kingdom, Israel and Cyprus. It opened on July 4 at the Paphos Ancient Odeon with a performance of “Agamemnon’s Children.” The play list includes Eurepedes’ “Bacchae,” Sophocles’ “Electra” and “Antigone,” “The Eumenides,” and many others.
Tickets for the event are 17 Euro; 10 Euro for Seniors, Students and Military
