Crete’s Municipality of Hersonissos and trivago.com offer one-week vacations, and invite travelers of Germany, Italy and Spain to “Be Trivago Crete Reporters, and Explore Hersonissos Municipality!” A competition started on August 16th and will be open through August 31st on the company’s tourist portals trivago.de, trivago.it, and trivago.es.
To enter, contestants must add one hotel review on trivago and fill in a short form to give some information about themselves and explain the reasons why they would love to be a Trivago Reporter for Hersonissos. On the German, Spanish and Italian trivago website, as well as on its Facebook and Twitter pages, officials will also post messages, “guess the place” questions, and photos about Greece and Hersonissos so that more people can be informed about this offer.
Winners will be offered a free trip to Crete for two persons. The week-long package includes flights for two people and a tour guide for one up to three days, depending on the travel agencies. The only obligation of the winners will be that they upload hotels and attractions reviews about Hersonissos and write a brief report on their experience at the end of each day during their stay in Greece.
This is not the first time that the Hersonissos Municipality has run such a competition online and offered free trips to the island. Less than a month ago, they announced the four winners of the latest contest which was launched in collaboration with Dutch websites and who will soon travel to Crete for free in early September.
