Greek police arrested a 63-year-old man in Kavala, northeastern Greece, on suspicion of sexual abuse against his Bulgarian wife’s granddaughter, aged 9.
The child lives in Bulgaria but visits her grandmother, who lives in the area of Lydia close to Kavala, quite often. Police said that the nine-year-old girl informed them about the ongoing assault with the support of her psychologist and aunt. According to the police, the alleged abuser had been taking advantage of the girl since the age of six but the girl had not told anyone about it until recently.
After a detailed research on August 16th, police officers found printed pornographic material at the man’s house. His name or any other personal information have not yet been published. The girl will soon be examined by a coroner.
