Corfu Hosts European Youth Parliament's International Forum

The Ionian island of Corfu will host the European Youth Parliament’s Ionian International Forum 2012 for the first time. According to the Parliament’s official website, on August 21-29, more than 150 young Europeans from 24 different countries will visit Corfu for the 3rd International Forum of EYP, with 110 as delegates and the others as officials.
The theme is related to different European civilizations and  multi-lingualism and aims at promoting the use of both EYP official languages, English and French. Consequently, one of the committees will be Francophone.
Although almost every activity is going to take place in Corfu town, the participants will be accommodated on a small island opposite the town of Corfu, called Vidos, where the Municipal Campus lies and will be available only for the forum. Teambuilding will be held there as well. This is what inspired the organizing committee to think of the quote, “Two Islands, One Session”.
Professors and students of the Foreign Languages Translation & Interpreting Department of the Corfu-based Ionian University will offer volunteer translation from English into French and vice-versa, to support the EYP’s International Forum.
