Τhe Naked Truth About Merkel's Visit to Athens

German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s visit to Athens on Oct. 9 brought out protesters of all stripes, including people dressed as Nazis and even a naked man who ran through a crowd in downtown Athens, which applauded while he displayed his cheekiness and assets, hoping undoubtedly they were not shortcomings.
His appearance was so startling that it briefly halted a battle between masked protesters and police, although he was certainly taking his chances. The streaker apparently enjoyed his time in the limelight, waving to the crowd which seemed to enjoy the respite in the protests.
Protesters from POE-OTA, the Panhellenic Federation of Workers of Greece gathered outside the Federation’s headquarters in Karaiskaki Square and five of them dressed as Nazis, got in a jeep and saluted in the Nazi manner, so as to show their opposition to the German Chancellor’s arrival to Greece.
Despite the seriousness of Merkel’s trip to meet Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and review his plans to make another $17.45 billion in spending cuts and tax hikes as part of yet more austerity measures to keep international aid coming, some reports in the the Greek media focused on Merkel’s jacket noting that the green colored garment was the same one she wore at a European championship soccer match between Greece and Germany this past summer.
Another picture that has gone viral showed a man in a wheelchair opposite the riot police forces in downtown Athens. The disabled protester did not hesitate to take his frustration out on the streets against the austerity politics of the German politician and showed people around the world the resolute Greek fighting spirit.
