Uniformed Protests Outside the Greek Parliament

The Greek MAT riot police created a barrier at the entrance to Herod Atticus St., blocking uniformed protestors from the Greek Parliament. The protesters finally made their way through the parliament via Kolonaki street. The President of the Greek police union Poasy Christos Fotopoulos stated, “the Parliament seems to be in a pretty big rush over the new measures.”
At around 3:30 p.m, policemen in uniform arrived outside the Greek Parliament after  bypassing the police forces’ barriers. The dynamic panhellenic uniformed mobilization started from Evangelismos Square. Police officers, firefighters and port police from all around Greece participated in the demonstration against the new austerity cuts.
“We’ve been impoverished.” Fotopoulos commented. What drew everyone’s attention was the bean soup crock pot together with the use of fumigants. According to their statements in Newsit, “These beans in fact symbolize the rations that will be given both to House members and their families, if these measures are to be put into effect.”
