Mirambelo Wine Takes World Runner-Up

The Cretan wine Mirambelo 2010 Peza was listed second best for the festive Season in Financial Times by famous sommelier Jancis Robinson. Kotsifali and Mandilaria grapes grown on Crete give a hugely distinctive wine with the scents of dried laurel leaves and no excess sweetness, wine experts said. They said it is bone-dry fine wine, not that intense but complex, distinctive and interesting.
Its name was inspired by the spring aromas (“myra”= aromas) of the freshly bloomed vines (“ambelos”=vine.). The fine aromas of spices and dry fruits, typical for the Kotsifali grapes, are coupled in harmony with the aromas of tobacco and vanilla from the oak barriques. Balanced and rounded mouth and long- lasting aftertaste. It has an has alcohol volume of 13%.
