Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) Managing Director for Greece and Cyprus Alexandros Averkiadis has reportedly told the Deputy Governor of the Region of Macedonia and Thrace Dionysis Psomiadis that the airline will increase its presence in northern Greece by launching four new flight routes, which will link Thessaloniki directly to Stockholm and Copenhagen. These new routes will be seasonal but the company hopes to expand them year round.
At the same time other ways of closer cooperation in the Region of Central Macedonia with Scandinavian Airlines were under discussion, so as to enhance tourists’ flow from Scandinavia in the region as well as to effectively promote tourism in Central Macedonia in the Nordic countries and vice-versa.
