Police Uncover Cypriot Counterfeit Gang

dollarsPolice on Cyprus said they have uncovered a counterfeit money printing gang consisting of Turkish and Greek Cypriots, who had $24 million of fake dollars in possession, Hurriyet Daily News reported.
During an operation, police said they seized 352 fake $100 bills from the vehicle of a Turkish Cypriot named Turan Kurşi. He was questioned and then police arrested two Greeks, Tasoula Kosta and Lois Loizou.
Police said after listening to Kosta and Loizou’s phone call records, they concluded that Loizou had stashed a large cache of counterfeit money made as U.S. dollars. The suspects were arrested.
