Germans Harvest Cretan Olives and Life

olives450x262Cologne’s Thomas More Academy visited Crete in order to harvest olives and see up close the Cretan products.
“This year we came along with 30 people from the region of Westphalia so as to harvest olives, and look closely at all production stages. Our smallest harvester is at the age of 14 years old,” said Stamatis Lyberopoulos, initiator of a movement that for so many years brings people closer to the island of Crete.
“We are in contact with a dealer from Cologne who informs us on the great ordering quantities when this activity takes place,” said Lymperopoulos, who started this whole effort alone many years ago, without getting any real help from anybody. He now has some big advertisers on his side though.
Lymperopoulos stressed that according to a survey conducted by the Bavarian TV station, every single person who comes to Greece, affects – positively or negatively  – 97 other people.
