Children's Cardiosurgical Clinic Reopens

paidaki_xeirourgio_626_355The cardiosurgical clinic of the Children’s Hospital Agia Sofia reopened on March 20, and gradually all its departments will be working again. Two surgeries have already been scheduled, one of them being the replacement of a pacemaker in an infant.
The reopening of the Cardiac Surgery Center was requested by medical associations and parents of children with congenital heart diseases, who had sent letters to the political leadership of the Ministry Of Health.
The Association of parents of children suffering from congenital heart diseases, has denounced that at least three children have lost their lives during the last months because the cardiosurgical clinic wasn’t operating, while the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center who had undertaken the assistance of young patients, avoided to admit them, especially if uninsured.
