A few days ago, the environmental organization Callisto was informed by a villager of a new instance of two bears who were found dead at a short distance from the city of Grevena, on the road to the village of Kyra Kali.
Callisto called the Forest Inspectorate of Grevena and the Northern Pindus Management Body, and also contacted the Chief of the Veterinary Service of Grevena which conducted the autopsy on March 28.
According to the autopsy, the two bears, a female and her baby, were found 30 meters apart from each other. This lead to the conclusion that the bears had eaten a poisoned bait used by unscrupulous people, which seems to have caused their death in a short time.
