Cyclists Send Message Touring the Adriatic

images107Two cyclists from Igoumenitsa got an early morning start on April 10, to symbolically tour the Adriatic by bicycle. Christos Christou and Giorgos Himonas, decided to convey social messages in this way.
“There are life goals. There are solutions to problems, as long as we see things through another point of view. The real impasses have to do with health and human,” stated Christou, who faced many difficulties over the last years as he experienced a major professional crisis as a constructor of public works, but managed to find hope and an optimistic outlook, despite the problems.
This optimistic attitude towards life is the basic message Christou wants to convey by riding his bicycle. This may seem picturesque, but it is not at all. Especially if we think how much we need to hope for something better. And maybe we should stop searching outside of us, but search hope inside us in the way we perceive and face things.
Except for cycling, Christou loves mountaineering and maybe this contact with nature makes him see things in a more relaxed way. As he told  AMNA, “nature fills you with confidence, well-being, elements that constitute valuable weapons to face everyday problems.”
The two men crossed the Thesprotia-Albania border checkpoint Mavromati, while the route they are about to follow is Tirana, Bar, Dubrovnik, Split, Rijeka, Trieste, Ancona.
