38881-87527Greek author Sofia Mantouvalou is claiming the international Andersen Award 2013. The winner will be announced in September. Her work in children’s literature has received many distinctions in Greece and abroad. Her books have been translated into English, Chinese and Korean, while some of them are included in the Greek school anthology.
Mantouvalou lives in Athens. She has studied evolutionary psychology, educational technology and direction in Greece and Canada. Her imagination, humor and the paradox have been in the service of books and television for the last thirty years.
She manages to combine imaginary with real-life elements, vision with reality. Mantouvalou has published sixty four books for children and young people so far. She has created a great number of educational films, some of which have been awarded. The book, A Harem of Men, is the first one she wrote addressing adults.
