An exhibition with traditional products of Samos, as well as a photo exhibition with the island’s enchanting landscapes dominating was held in Thessaloniki from April 15-16.
It wa the 2nd Exhibition of Traditional Cultural and Tourism Products. The first was held last year in Athens. The purpose of the exhibition is to be realized every year in a different Greek city, in order for Samos to “travel” around the country, giving the opportunity to everyone to meet its tradition and beauties.
A total of 20 producers of the island took part, presenting to the public some of the most famous products of Samos, such as the famous Vin Doux of Samos, which is used in Holy Communion, the ouzo, the honey, the herbs, species of the primary sector, as well as the traditional sweets and the local cuisine.
The photo exhibit included 51 landscapes of Samos to bring visitors closer to the beauties as well as to the tradition of the island where many famous names were born, including Pythagoras, Aristarchus. Cultural events were held in Aristotelous Square and the “dolphin-mascot” of Samos was there for the children to enjoy.
