SYRIZA Holds Slight Lead Over ND

dimoskopisiAccording to the latest poll, the major opposition party Coalition of the Radical Left (SYRIZA) has a razor-thin lead of 0.2 percent over the ruling New Democracy (ND) Conservatives, a margin that effectively is a dead heat given the margin of error.
According to the survey by Marc for Alpha channel, SYRIZA had 22.3 percent support for 22.1 percent for New Democracy, although both parties fell from a previous poll.
The neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party remained third with 9.7 percent followed by the PASOK Socialists at 5.9 percent, the KKE Communists at 5.1 percent and the tiny Democratic Left (DIMAR) with 4.4 percent. PASOK and DIMAR are coalition partners in Prime Minister Antonis Samaras’ government.
The option Other Party was chosen by 6 percent, the option Invalid/Abstinence was chosen by 10.7 and 8.4 percent, while 8.2 percent gave no answer.
To the question who would win if elections were held now, SYRIZA was barely favored over ND, 27.5-27.3 percent, followed by Golden Dawn at 12 percent, Independent Greeks with 7.3 percent, PASOK with 6.7 percent, KKE at 6.4 percent, DIMAR with 5.4 percent and Other Party with 7.4 percent.
To the question “Who do you find most suitable for Prime Minister?”, Antonis Samaras is chosen by 46.6 percent, Alexis Tsipras by 31.8 percent, while 21.6 percent chose not to answer.
