Comicdom Con Athens Shows TinTin

comicdomThe great comic’s celebration, Comicdom Con Athens 2013, is being held from April 19-23 at the Hellenic American Union (HAU,) whose leader is the well-known former New Hampshire politician Chris Spirou. The event also includes an Original Art Exhibition.
This year’s exhibition is dedicated to TinTin, one of the most popular characters of comics worldwide. It is noteworthy that from 1929, when the comic character first performed, until today, the Adventures of TinTin sold more than 200 million copies and were translated into 58 languages.
The exhibition is organized in collaboration with the HergéMuseum. Guests of this year’s event are the veteran British writer Jamie Delano, Italian designer Matteo Scalera, known for his work in Secret Avengers and the Deadpool of Marvel.
Among the guest will also be the rising Austrian designer of Turkish origin, Mahmud Asrar, who has worked at the U.S. publications Marvel, DC, and Image and who is regular artist of Supergirl DC’s and Ultimate Comics X-Men’s of Marvel.
Comicdom Con Athens 2013 program will also include screenings, workshops for script technique and illustrations, Greek comics stores and publishing companies bazaar, children’s programs, Comicdom Awards which are the only comic awards for Greeks authors, as well as the highlight of the last two events, the Cosplay Competition.
The Comicdom Con Athens is being organized for the eighth year in a row by the Comicdom Press and the HAU. Admission is free.
