Thessaloniki Tourism Festival

thessaloniki2Thessaloniki is taking one more step to promote its tourism, after an initiative taken by the city’s Professional Chamber. The first Tourism Festival in Thessaloniki has been organized on the first pier of the city’s marina with the assistance of Thessaloniki Port Authority SA and Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF)-Helexpo.

The events of the festival will take place from May 16 to 19, under the auspices of the Ministry for Macedonia and Thrace, the Region of Central Macedonia and the Municipality of Thessaloniki.

According to the president of the Professional Chamber of Thessaloniki, Mihalis Zorpidis, the festival will give the opportunity to those participating to show their touristic products shortly before the summer holidays.

The exhibition will be framed by a number of events in order to attract the public to this corner of the marina.

  1. This obsession some alleged Greeks have with tourism harms our homeland. It has turned a major portion of our workforce into lazy minded vomit and feces cleaning janitors and maids and bartenders. I fair to remember any pages in Organon or Plato’s Republic preaching the wisdom of cleaning up feces and vomit of tourists.

What happened to mathematics? Physics? Biology? The educational focus on countless other hellenic classics to produce our own technology and idea?

I fail to see where the Hellenism part of any so called Greeks that try to earn a quick buck in minimum wage low skilled tourism jobs. Their behavior is no different than the Skopians frauds that try to “proudly” pawn off ancient Greek artifacts as their own creation. Pseudo-Greeks posers.
