IKA-ETAM Pensioners Abroad Must Declare Tax ID, AMKA

AMKAPensioners of the largest Social Security Organization in Greece IKA-ETAM, who live abroad permanently, have to declare their tax ID number (AFM) and social security number (AMKA).
According to an announcement issued by IKA  concerning particularly those insured in IKA-ETAM Athens, “The payment of pension to those who do not have an AMKA number and a tax ID, or who have not made this data known to the department of their insurance organization in Greece has been suspended and will be suspended for pensioners who have not declared one of these numbers.”
For this reason, the special application, Inform Pensioners who live abroad, is on IKA-ETAM’s website (www.ika.gr), where pensioners must complete an application with their AMKA number and tax ID, as well as their personal data, and can be informed about receiving their pension.
Those interested can seek any essential information about AMKA from the website ww.amka.gr, but if they do not have a social security number, they must have it issued immediately, in person or by proxy, by contacting a Citizen Service Center (www.kep.gov.gr) or at AMKA offices that function in IKA-ETAM.
Pensioners who have their social security number issued, will have to declare a residence postal address in Greece. If there is no address, they can declare the postal address of the IKA-ETAM branch office of Athens (48, Agisilaou street, 10436 Athens). In the case of a proxy, this person has to declare his address.
Pensioners who do not have a tax ID, can refer to the Tax Office for Residents Abroad (DOY) (4, Metsovou street, Athens, tel.: 2108204606, 2108204648-9, /fax: 210 8204653, e-mail: doykatex@1850.syzefxis.gov.gr), in person or by proxy, in order to receive information on the procedure followed to have a tax ID issued, and about the necessary documents.
