Social Network Moodeet Knows How You're Feeling

moodeet
Moodeet is the name of the new social network made in Greece. It is a new fun platform aiming to fill the void left behind by other popular social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
A group of students from the National Technical University of Athens created a mobile device application that employs emoticons to portray the user’s mood via their visual status.
The idea belongs to two graduates from the Department of Electrical Engineering,  25-year- old Michalis Petychakis and 27-year-old Joseph Alvertis.
The two engineers began thinking about and working on the network idea almost two years ago, while they were writing their doctoral thesis on social media. Petichakis specializes in artificial intelligence and robotics and Alvertis in management.
The three other co-founders of the network include Dimitris Moraitis from the University of Piraeus who is a graduate of digital systems studies and holds a MA degree in marketing and social media; their friend Makis who designs the graphics of Moodeet and Alex from Germany, who is the iOS developer.
The group of friends tried to redesign the manner in which the network users express themselves. To this purpose they created a new vocabulary of emoticons that replaces texting. According to this totally original status idea, the platform will allow users to understand other’s emotion.
The application will even understand the users’ mood and feelings through smart algorithms, so that it can provide them with solutions or ideas that can cheer them up if they are sad, enable them to share their reasons of happiness, help them get over their frustration.
Optimistic about the future, the Greek creators have already spent from their own pocket some 6,000 Euros in setting up their platform, which they hope will attract more supporters in the coming years. The application is currently available to download on Appstore. Moodeet will be soon available for Windows 8 and androids.
