Elderly Couple Beaten to Death in Ioannina

xeirobombida3_526_355An investigation is under way to identify a murder suspect of a 72-year-old national and his 73-year-old wife, who were found murdered inside their home in a village of Ioannina,  Ktismata, on the  Greek-Albanian border. The elderly couple according to evidence so far, seem to have been beaten to death.
At dawn on May 12, the Police Department of Ioannina was informed that a lorry ran off its course and hit a wall in the city. According to the survey, the owner of the lorry was the 72-year-old victim, while the characteristics of the unknown driver who abandoned it  matched the description of the assailant, who had earlier committed two armed robberies at Ktismata of Ioannina.
Specifically, an unknown man at 10 pm on the night of May 11, entered a restaurant at Ktismata, and holding two grenades threatened the patrons demanding money. Eventually, he managed to steal a purse. During his escape, he pulled the pin and threw one grenade against the store owner and the patrons who were chasing after him, fortunately without it detonating.
Later on, the perpetrator entered the home of a woman, resident of the same village, and again with the threat of a grenade stole two cell phones and disappeared.
