Samaras Wants Greeks Tourist-Friendly

e29683a65f08677993942d11c664c443 (1)Greek Prime Minister Greece Antonis Samaras wants Greeks to show their good side and be hospitable to tourists this year with the country depending on visitors spending a lot of cash to help raise revenues during a lingering economic crisis.
In a meeting that took place at Maximos Mansion on tourism, Samaras mentioned that this year a record 17 million visitors are expected to come to Greece, which he said shows a vote of confidence for the country, jobs and ups optimism.
Samaras also noted that the image of the country is not only a responsibility of the government but that it’s up to each Greek to promote the country’s image, be careful of the quality of the services offered and of the Greek products, the prices, the safety of the visitors and the cleanliness of the cities and the beaches.
“I ask all the Greek professionals, local authorities and every Greek citizen to help for the good of the country so that we will reflect to all the tourists our best self. Greece should be recognized as beauty, quality, civilization, kindness, hospitality,” Samaras said.
Despite that, the government is doing little to advertise Greece as a tourist destination while rivals such as Turkey are promoting their countries as tourist destinations.
