Taxidi Exhibit 2013 Opens in Cyprus

taxidi_2013The trip exhibition 2013 reopens its gates on May 17 for the 16th consecutive year. The exhibition will be inaugurated by the Cypriot Minister of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism, George Lakkotrypis, at 5 p.m. in the showroom of the Cyprus State Fairs Authority.
The chairman of ACTA (Association of Cyprus Travel Agents) Victor Mantovani, at a press conference said that the special subject of this year’s exhibit is Culinary Tourism with representation from Cyprus, Greece, Italy and Portugal.
Mantovani referring to inbound tourism, highlighted that this year will be quite difficult because of the island’s defamation when the banks remained closed. However, there is optimism that the efforts made will probably maintain last year’s number of arrivals.
CTA Chairman noted as well that Cypriot travelers await with anticipation the packages available, in order to explore their options not only for their summer holidays but also for their future trips.
In this year’s exhibit tour operators, airline companies, national and local tourist organizations, district offices from Cyprus and Greece, Cyprus and international hotels, companies with parking near Larnaca and Paphos airports, foreign countries and other travel, as well as holiday related parties are participating with their own pavilions, covering a total of 1,300 m² exhibition space.
