Local products will be showcased in hotels and accommodations of the area and will be included within the certified Greek breakfast, which is internationally recognized under the name Greek Breakfast.
“The Greek breakfast may vary in every region, depending on what each place produces. So we’ll add flavors of our products, namely cherry and cheese,” Evangelos Kiriakou, who is  responsible for culture and tourism in Edessa told the Greek news agency ANA-MPA.
The fair is being organized in the framework of the European program Kaimakatsalan’s Roads of Gastronomy and will take place in the Waterfalls Park.
The municipality of Kavadarci from Macedonia will participate as well. The city of Edessa is well known for its wines, and in their joint effort of a better co-operation, both sides are planning to combine wine with cherries. An art exhibit entitled Cherrie’s Roads will also take place. Some 24 artists from Edessa will exhibit within the next 20 days works inspired by the local identity and the history of cherry.
