The first hydroplane airport in the Ionian Sea will be constructed at the Ionian Sea island of Corfu after the relevant legislation concerning the terms and conditions of permit and operation is approved.
All the relevant paperwork has been submitted by the Greek hydroplane airports company Water Airports in order to operate in the Ionian Islands, To Vima said.
According to information from Corfu, the company will use the island as its base to reach others. The islands Othonoi, Erikousa and Paxos that are located in the Ionian Sea will be the first flight destinations, while guided cruise flights for tourists that want to see Corfu from above will be also offered by the company.
