Greece's Soccer Team Wears Nike Now

Nike_Greece_NTK_large_146939156261The Greek National football (soccer) team will debut a new uniform in a game against Lithuania on June 7, switching to Nike gear, from the company that became famous four decades ago with running shoes and adopted the name of the goddess of victory.
Nike created kits that feature a signature Greek white-and-blue color palette, according to fibre2fashion.com. The home jersey is classic white with broad blue cuffs and blue V-neck trim while the away jersey is blue with contrasting white details. Colored stripes on the shorts and socks correspond with the jersey’s cuffs to create a complete look.
Greek National team captain Giorgos Karagounis was quoted as saying that “To wear a national team jersey and represent my country is a great honor for me and my teammates. We will do our best to perform at the highest level while wearing our national colors and the flag at the heart”.
Along with Nike’s commitment to also combine performance with minimized environmental impact, the home and away jerseys are as well made with recycled polyester. Each jersey is made using an average eight recycled plastic bottles.
