Strong Downpours Expected Throughout Greece

080513145434_4081According to the Hellenic National Meteorological Service, strong thunder storms are expected later on June 11 and 12 in many regions throughout Greece.
The sun is to give way to heavy downpours with a chance of hail in the north as daily Kathimerini reports. Storms are also predicted for the Greek mainland and the central and northern Aegean.
The large hailstones that fell in Imathia, central Macedonia, on June 10, caused extensive damages to crops- especially to the peach production- to cars, solar panels and injured people as well.
Summer high temperatures are also expected to drop significantly. Showers will hit Athens on June 11 and 12 in the afternoon and the early evening.
However, on the evening of June 13 the severe weather conditions will gradually recede from west to east.
