Rise in Arrivals at Patras Marina

1F20ADE4A4CCF97852297DD00734E3EFThe Municipality of Patras and the marina office have paid particular attention to servicing tourists who visit Patras by boat, as they believe that the number of vessels can be significantly increased.
The Patras marina was discredited, neglected and lacked basic infrastructure for hosting visitors, such as safe mooring points, toilets, Wi-Fi, foreign language speaking staff and even a website.
Nowadays the marina is far more organized and hospitable, while it even offers the possibility of reserving a place via its website.
It is characteristic that this year the tourists who were satisfied with last year’s service returned, while visitors express their satisfaction for the services they receive. The majority of tourists that visit the Patras marina are French, British and German, while in August the majority of visitors are expected to be Italians.
In May, the rise in arrivals surpassed 40 percent, while in June they are expected to reach 75 percent, as already until now more vessels have come than in the entire June of 2012.
At the same time the municipality of Patras is quickly proceeding to the construction of new places for safe docking in order to serve the growing needs, while it is planning the upgrading of facilities offered to large vessels that dock the port.
