A gigantic police operation is under way in Efpalio, Nafpaktia, as the police have traced the Albanians who escaped from the Trikala prison.
It all started a little while after 4 a.m., when the assailants were trapped at a police checkpoint with their stolen vehicle.
When the police threw the projector on the stolen car, the criminals got out of the vehicle holding Kalashnikovs.
A sniper shot in the air for intimidation, which forced the Albanian prison escapees to immediately get into the car, turn around and disappear.
According to onairnews, the prisoners have military training, which means that they know when they should back down. In this case, they were clearly aware they had no hope of overcoming the police and so they managed to escape again.
“Either I’ll kill you or you kill me,” ruthless Kola, one of the 11 escapees, said.
Police investigations are mainly focused on the Varnakova and Ampelakiotisa monasteries located in the area. Strong police forces have blocked the area, not allowing people to get any closer. It is estimated that this is where the highly dangerous escapees have been hiding and now it is a matter of time for the police to arrest them.
