Twenty European Street Artists to Color Athens

43802-98397Twenty top street artists from all over Europe are coming to change the hazy face of Athens. Lively colors and smart messages on the city’s walls, starting from the Athens School of Fine Arts and from public buildings of the Municipality of Nikaia-Agios Ioannis Rentis. The title of the project is Crisis [?] What Crisis [?], which perfectly expresses the meaning and the message of the festival.
It is an interactive event starting on June 27, during which the artists will perform a series of stencil art works, paintings, installations, such as new media. The Athens School of Fine Arts in cooperation with GA Art+Events Mgmt, the Municipality of Nikaia-Agios Ioannis Rentis and the Camp Gallery, are organizing the festival, which will include discussions, exchange of views among artists and the students of the Athens School of Fine Arts on the controversial issue of the value of street art in a period of crisis.
During the festival, activities in public spaces are organized from June 27 to July 2: stencil workshops for children with the guidance of the artists in the cultural center of the Municipality of Nikaia-Agios Ioannis Rentis and an exhibition of works from July 1 to 14 in the CAMP Gallery, in Kotzia Square.
