Kalamata International Dance Festival Opens Its Doors

ston-ruthmo-diethnous-festibal-xorou-kalamatasThe art of dance is being honored this year in the Kalamata International Dance Festival, which continues its action for the 19th year in a row, despite the adversities and necessary cuts due to the economic crisis.
Remaining faithful to the objectives and its sustainable contribution to the artistic life of the country, the 19th Kalamata Dance Festival is organized by the Kalamata International Dance Center under the artistic direction of Vicki Marangopoulos from July 18 to 25 ,  inaugurating the long awaited Kalamata Dance Hall.
The program includes six productions from the international arena and five from Greece, with artists coming from Europe (France, Belgium, Switzerland, Greece), Africa (Nigeria) and South America (Ecuador), parallel events and two seminars – workshops for professionals and advanced students, taught by professional trainers from Spain and Greece.
The Kalamata Dance Festival has been characterized as a model, winning praise for its exemplary operation, sustainable development and its stable route, which ranks it in a separate place among the European Dance Festivals and the major European cultural events, and manages to bring out Greek choreographers and create a communication channel between the domestic and the international scene.
