Greek Seadogs Shooting in Greece

aigaio6The Greek-Australian crew for the shooting of the documentary about Greek Shipping, and generally about the relation of Greeks with the sea, has arrived in Greece. This week the crew members were on Oinousses, one of the islands which will be presented in the TV series documentary.
The series which is called Greek Seadogs and has the support of the Ministry of Tourism in Greece, will be televised on pay channels and on television networks of Australia, the U.S.A., the United Kingdom, Canada among other countries.
The Mayor of Oinousses, Evangelos Angelakos, assisted the film crew members in their endeavor to highlight the island’s unique shipping tradition.
The idea for the creation of the documentary belongs to the Australian businessman Peter Pentz, who spends all his summers on Greek islands and states that he is in love with the blue color of the Aegean Sea, while he particularly admires the seamanship of the Greeks. This is why he decided to make this documentary, which is dedicated to the captains, the sailors and the fishermen in Greece.
Pentz characterizes himself a Hellenophile and knows Greece very well, as he has been visiting the country every year for three decades now. Seven years ago, he realized his big dream, which was to buy a sailing boat and travel the Greek seas.
The popular Greek-Australian television star, George Houvardas, will be the host of the series.
