According to the Greek Ministry for Health planning, 1,618 employees of the Health sector are expected to enter the suspension regime. A ministerial decision will be issued and the evaluation procedure will immediately begin.
Minister for Health, Adonis Georgiadis, referring to the sit-ins at the Aghia Varvara hospital, talked about a “disciplinary offense amid the suspension-mobility procedure.”
Georgiadis repeated that there is no possibility the hospital will close down and claimed that, “it will be upgraded in order to offer better and more specialized services.” “The hospital is not closing down, this health structure is being strengthened and those reacting are lured by centers of partisan interests.”
During the press conference, the Health Minister presented the mobility timetable, including the dates the collection of the evaluation material will begin, the catalog with the employees’ names will be published, the mobility procedure will begin and the employees’ placement in their new positions will be completed.
