Tripoli Highway Named For Theodorakis

αρχείο λήψηςNoted Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis now has another honor: a major road in the Peloponnesian city of Tripoli will bear his name. It is a section of the newly-constructed highway of the new section of the suburban road of the Arcadian capital.
The decision was made on Aug. 7 on the proposal of Mayor Yiannis Smirniotis who said he wanted to show his city’s respect for the internationally-renowned composer who lived for many years in Tripoli and Arcadia. During his staying in Arcadia Theodorakis composed important musical work.
The unveiling of the new highway’s name will take place on Aug. 12 shortly before the performance Mikis Theodorakis-Poios ti Zoi mou to a welcoming audience.
